The Gospel

We believe that Jesus, being the eternal Son of God, took on flesh, walked and lived a perfect life on this earth, died the death that we deserved and rose again to conquer death. Jesus is a real historical person, he lived a real life, and accomplished real redemption. His life and work gives us meaning and hope for our everyday life.

The gospel is summarized in I Cor. 15:3-4, “For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures.”

• The Authority and Sufficiency of Scripture: We believe that God has provided all that we need in the Scriptures of the Old and New Testament. These 66 books are inerrant in all they proclaim and we seek to continually look to them as our authority.
• Atonement of Christ: Jesus Christ lived the life we should have lived and died the death we deserve to die. His sacrifice is the only merit by which God declares sinners to be righteous in his sight.
• The Primacy of God’s Role in Salvation: God is the one who calls, regenerates, convicts, justifies, sanctifies and glorifies. We contribute nothing to our salvation except our sin.
• The Freedom that is in Christ: We understand that it is the work of Christ that sets us free; not living by a set of rules.
